WebFeb 7, 2024 · I anneal my 308 cases a little lower than normal, then run them through a modified (shortened about 3/16") 7mm-08 to push the shoulder back and start the neck squeezing. From there I size as normal in my Redding "S" 6.5 Creedmoore die, then trim for length and turn the neck to whatever clearance you need in your chamber. The 7mm08 is an excellent short-action non-magnum cartridge. Buy your brass online in large lots (several hundred casings), and it will be the least expensive option.

Yes just full length size 308 brass in a 708 die and your done. Shouldn’t need neck turning unless you have a tight tolerance chamber. I would recommend annealing the brass before and after as you are working the brass harder than normal.
