As a reader, I connected with her the most. Her dreams were handled very well (I was a little concerned about that beforehand). As a character, Pilate was more of an enigma; how could he be so loving to his wife, and so unsympathetic towards the people he was ruling over?

I would be interested to learn how much of the history of Claudia is "authentic" versus authors imagination.
